Puerto Cabarete School Clean-Up

La Escuela de Puerto Cabarete, a Dominican public school for students in grades K-8, is the location of our summer program, and yesterday we gave it a thorough cleaning. Many of our Mariposa girls and mothers, along with Nina, Jessica, Tricia, Paulina, and myself, arrived bright and early at 8 am to scrub the school from top to bottom.

The girls had fun with the brand-new mop, but it didn't stay clean for long!

Volunteers raked and cleaned up the yard.

A group of girls and mothers cleaned, sorted, and organized workbooks from the school year.

Tricia and Paulina plan our next move!

A student fills up buckets with water from the hose.

All of the chairs were scrubbed, rinsed, and put out in the schoolyard to dry.

While her job was to dust the books, she couldn't help but take some reading breaks. All of our students are so excited to LEARN!

Paz y amor (y muchas sonrisas).

She took charge of the library clean-up, and now she is so proud that her library sparkles!

Our youngest helper shines the white board.

Mother and daughter are tired, but proud at the end of our clean-up session.
